The Stuibenfall

Spectacle of nature right outside our front door

The Stuibenfall in Tyrol is an impressive natural experience in Ötztal for families with children. The Stuibenfall is seen as the largest and most beautiful waterfall in Tyrol. From 150 m the water rushes raging and roaring into the depths. Especially on hot sunny days, a visit to the Stuibenfall is rewarding. Then a colorful rainbow is formed by the sunlight in the mist.

The Stuibenfall was originated about 9000 years ago. Rock masses of a massive landslide sealed off the Horlachbach. On the northern edge of the newly created Tauferberges Horlachbach sought out the new riverbed. Since there Horlachbach falls down as the Stuibenfall over 2 levels deep.

The Stuibenfall is fed from 7 sources of the Stubai Alps. On peak days, 2,000 liters of water per second plunge into the Tiefe. From May to October every Wednesday
Tyrol's largest and most powerful waterfall is illuminated  after dark! On these days, there is also the opportunity to participate in guided lantern walks Stuibenfall.
